Gun Control Works

Milestones Along the Way to Global Tyranny

Surely you have seen the headlines and the images of destruction: the rioting, looting, violent assaults, and arson. London and other UK cities looking like war zones and their citizens afraid to venture out, because the danger is very real. It’s a view of the temporary breakdown of society. It is gut check time; a time when the concept  of being able to defend oneself gives way to the stark reality  that few viable options to do so exist.

Gun laws in the UK are among the most restrictive in the world. In March of 1996, a deranged man walked into a school in Dunblane, Scotland and killed 16 children and one teacher. In the aftermath of this tragedy, British politicians sought to reduce violent crime by enacting a ban on all handguns. Handgun owners were given a February 1998 deadline to turn in their firearms–and they did. The UK was supposed to become a much safer place–but dramatic increases in crime following the gun ban proved it didn’t.

A July 3, 2009, Daily Mail  article reported that “Britain’s violent crime record is worse than any other country in the European Union, it has been revealed. Official crime figures show the UK also has a worse rate for all types of violence than the U.S. and even South Africa.”

And the August, 2011 London Riots proved it further. Restrictive laws concerning long-guns, combined with the outright ban on handguns, left the country’s citizens largely defenseless (an August 9, 2011 CNN Money Tech  article  reported that sales of one type of aluminum baseball bats on Amazon UK rose 6,541 percent). In many places, it was reported that police were unable to stop the mayhem. As a result, panicked, defenseless law-abiding citizens were forced to flee their homes, while others watched as their businesses were destroyed. Compare this to the 1992 Los Angeles riots, when armed citizens were able to protect their lives, families, and property from looters and violent mobs.

An August 11, 2011 Herald Sun   article reported one resident as saying, “its absolute bedlam on the street. People have been openly looting for an hour, two hours, and the police have been ineffectual. They’ve done nothing.” Another victim, who was trapped in her hair salon in Clapham Junction while a mob smashed its way in and trashed it, said, “They were mocking us, [saying] ‘look, look, they look scared’. Where is the police? I want protection. This is what they’re here for . . . I’m not secure at my workplace. I’m not secure at my home place. Will they be there to protect us tonight? They weren’t here to protect us last night.”

The Telegraph.com.au  reported on August 9, 2011 that mobs were forcing hapless victims to strip off their clothes while being robbed, and described a shocking video that shows a bleeding, already-pummeled teenager being robbed in broad daylight by lawless thugs who pretend to help him to his feet, and then steal the contents of his backpack while he can barely remain standing, much less defend himself.

Riots And Looting Continues Across London

This is what a disarmed country looks like. This is how little is left when free men and women surrender their right to own a firearm.

One has to wonder how differently this all would be playing out if the law-abiding were allowed to arm themselves. How different would the reports be if violent, opportunistic, amoral thugs were confronted with armed resistance from their intended victims?

It has been said that, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”  In this case, good men and women have been stripped of their ability to do something, and evil has certainly triumphed.

Ironically, the UK is an outspoken proponent of the United Nations’ efforts to negotiate an Arms Trade Treaty. Presumably the UK’s goal in supporting an ATT is to spread the “safety and sanctity” they imagine their country as having to the rest of the world. Perhaps the recent calamities will cause the British to rethink their position; we certainly hope so. It’s time for the British government to drop its draconian gun-control laws and restore the right of self-defense to its law-abiding citizens.

It’s time to face the facts. When law-abiding citizens are disarmed, is their society a safer one? Do gun bans reduce violent crime? Will the police always be there to protect you? England’s current plight is just the latest example to show us, yet again, that the answer to these questions is an emphatic “No.”

 A Little Gun Control History

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated’ people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

In April of 1996, a “gunman toting several assault rifles” mowed down 35 people at a cafe in Port Arthur, Australia. Soon thereafter, gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The results after the first year were tallied up:

Australia-wide, homicides went up 32 percent.

Australia-wide, assaults went up 8.6 percent.

Australia-wide, armed robberies went up 44 percent.

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms went up 300 percent.

Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this changed drastically for the worse after the gun ban, since criminals are now guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

You won’t see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans, before it’s too late! The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.

With guns, we are citizens. Without them, we are subjects.

During WW II the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

If you value your freedom, please spread this anti-gun control message to all of your friends.

  1. I do think we should shift from “problem-
    based” to “solution based”…

As long as we keep reacting with more
harmless noise every time we are kicked,
we are going to keep on getting kicked
until we are dead… they have proven
that much to my personal satisfaction if
    nothing else…

So as long as we keep doing what we’ve
been doing, we will keep getting what
we’ve been getting. And we can’t handle
    any more of that…

So, hey, I’m glad you wrote in, I might
let you set me off on a new jag. You
know I’m over here just feeling like a
noisemaker now, and for good reason:
    that’s what I am. They strike a blow, I
make noise… they strike another blow,
I make more noise: “Look at what they’ve
done, this is what they did, hey every-
body look, when are you going to get off
    your ass?”

  2. Roy Mcdade says:

There are many intelligent Patriots out there who think as we do. Some are VERY INTELLIGENT… You are correct we must start pooling our resources and use our Intelligence in lieu of fundraising and organize. I would venture to say there are many Patriots who would be willing to “Do their share”..Organizing and reaching out are our weaknesses..

  3. Well I was actually still adding to that
reply, but I just watched the last three
paragraphs go up in smoke when I hit the
“Update” button… damn I hate it when
that happens, I spent like 20 minutes
    writing them…

Yes, they’re all up their taking money
save a meagre handful, who can now ac-
complish nothing, their numbers are so

It seems we do need a practical plan,
    but it’s grown virtually inconceivable
that the masses can be counted on for
    anything resembling unified action,
    support or involvement.

Plus, making these things happen re-
    quires funding and leadership…

    Our opponents have unlimited access
    to both.

    We have none.

    You do the math…

  4. Roy Mcdade says:

Then WTP DO EVERYTHING possible to clean these prostitutes out of office…

  5. Hey Roy,

I agree with you to a point… in my view
this people are not deaf to our requests:
they hear our requests loud and clear.

The problem is that 99% of them are no
better than prostitutes, bought and sold,
and they are now collectively pursuing an
agenda which is in direct conflict with
the best interests of the American People.

  6. Roy Mcdade says:

Our Congress people are deaf to our requests not to touch the 2nd Amendment, We the people MUST LET THEM KNOW that if soetreo passes an EO to register or ban ANY OF OUR FIREARMS it will be their LAST TERM IN OFFICE… PERIOD. AN EXCELLENT WAY TO DO THIS WOULD BE A MARCH ON WASHINGTON…….

  7. Oh, you managed to slip through the cracks here…

I don’t know what we’re going to do with these
    people, Terry.

I’ll just assume we can’t call for open armed rebellion
    here, but…

Sometimes you’ve just gotta beat the donkey over the
head with a board, man, in order to get its attention.

    I’m always open for suggestions…

I know as long as we continue to simply lay down, roll
over and moan, we’re just gonna keep getting fucked,
    harder and harder…

  8. Thank you, Happy New Year
    and keep coming back…

Very good point. The way I look at it, since I just got done reading this is, that the people who for the most part give up their weapons willingly, put so much faith and hopes in the law enforcers that until a very catastrophic situation arises the enforcers are no longer capable of focusing on protecting and serving the public as they were thought to do.

It is becoming a very scary world out there and we aren’t very far off from a tip of a revolutionary iceberg. Revolutionary as in war. At some point there will be heavy resistance to everyone’s respective governments that want to disarm their citizens.

Hopefully this doesn’t happen..but if it does then it does.

  11. Adam says:

I couldn’t agree more! The founding fathers, which actually deserve capitalization..so let’s try that again, The Founding Fathers knew this would happen, which is why the second ammendment is in the Constitution in the first place. No less than Abraham Lincoln challenged American citizens by stating “When the government becomes oppressive and opposed to the very freedoms on which this country was founded, it is the DUTY of the citizenry to overthrow it” (paraphrased). While I am not advocating armed insurrection, I do wish people would remove their craniums from their rectums areas and see what is being done to them.

  12. Thank you, Happy New Year
    and keep coming back…
